My first pinhole photo ever. The negative kind of layed around my house for two days before I took a picture of it with my D80 and inverted it. You can see a streak at the upper left where I touched the negative while it was still drying. I don't think I did enough washing of the negative before I hung it to dry. I believe this was about a 4 second exposure with Ilford Delta 100 film. It is of my back yard by the way in California.

This is a gallery of my pinhole photos. I built myself a 4x5 Pinhole camera out of Matboard and a thin brass shim for the pinhole. I also bought some old 4x5 backs off EBAY. The pinhole is .5mm and the focal length is 5 inches. Fstop is F254. Right now any picture you see here is actually a photo of the negative after I have developed it and taken with my D80 and inverted in Photoshop. Until I get a good scanner or find a place to scan the negs for me this is all I have.

AlexSnay > Here is a picture of the pinhole camera I took to show somebody with a 4x5 negative next to a 120 negative and a roll of 35mm film. This was to show the difference in negative size between the formats. I have the shutter in the up position so you can see the pinhole as well.

AlexSnay > I went out to the pier the other day with my pinhole here in Oceanside. There were a couple of large sailboats out there that looked almost like pirate ships at first. I got some weird looks carrying a black box onto the pier, and some more weird looks when I pulled out my meter and took the darkslide out of the camera and flipped down the little shutter I have. The sun was about to set and you can see the rays coming through the clouds. I think this was about a 4 sec exposure or maybe a bit longer. I took three pictures like this and tried to bracket them by a second.

AlexSnay > I cleaned the negative off a little better here, and figured a better way to take a picture of the negative with my dslr. Then inverted it in Photoshop and adjusted the curves a bit. It looks like there was some uneven development going on with that streak that goes across the picture just under halfway down. You can see it begin on the house on the left and it goes through the grass and then across the wall on my patio.
